Galaga (1981)

After watching A Fistful of Quarters back in 2008, I knew that if I could only own 1 arcade machine, it would be Galaga. As luck would have it there was a Galaga machine for sale locally for $305 so I decided to buy it. My friend and I lugged that sucker into my then studio apartment and ultimately placed it in the kitchen. I’ve moved 3 times since then, and each time I have to make some small repairs on it to get it working again, it’s very sensitive to these moves! But I love this machine. I even installed the Galaga Enhancement Pack on it to save my high scores and do other nifty things. It’s a game that is incredibly repetitive, yet it has a certain charm and definitely tests your endurance if you are going to crack 1,000,000 points.

Below is my review of the unit. I take a tour of the innards of the machine and talk about the PCB and stuff.
