Apple IIe (1983)

The Apple IIe had the longest life of any Apple computer in history at almost 11 years. The most obvious improvement was to the keyboard with the addition of several keys, such as up and down arrows and cursor controls. Behind the scenes, there were several enhancements that were formally only available through add-on cards and other modifications, such as 64K RAM being the default. As with all Apple II models, it was backwards compatible with older Apple II software.
