Apple IIc (1984)

The Apple IIc was a huge departure from earlier models for several reasons. For one, it was a closed system so users could no longer just pop open the hood and access the innards. Secondly, it was portable (meaning it was small and had a handle), but you still had to connect it to a monitor or tv. Although it didn’t appeal to hobbyists, it was a huge hit with schools who preferred a closed design system.
